These sophisticated dress shoes are sometimes confused with Derbys, another very elegant style. The main difference lies in the lacing. Oxfords have a "closed" lacing system. The eyelets are concealed under the quarter (the part that covers the foot), and the laces are pulled through them, creating a more formal look. Derbys have an open lacing system, with the eyelets attached to separate leather panels and stitched onto the upper. A favorite style that we'll definitely be adopting!
